You can apply for support for a residency at Sound Art Lab, which offers the following:

Facilities

Residing artists will have their own atelier and access to professional sound studios for recording and editing stereo, surround and multi-channel works, electronic and wood workshops, as well as to our general depot of audio gear (microphones, recorders, speakers etc.). We also offer access to an old anechoic chamber here at SAL, as well as access to additional workshops and 3d printers through our partners at Sound Hub Denmark.

Artists in residency become an integrated part of the artistic environment and everyday life at Sound Art Lab. We offer sparring on your project with the SAL team and other relevant partners, technical assistance as well as communication of you and your project through SAL’s own channels. Depending on the nature of the project, SAL can also help set up a network for our guests locally amongst companies and sound experts. Find out more about Sound Art Lab’s facilities here

At SAL we are flexible to support artists with kids, and we offer the possibility to bring family to the extent that there are rooms available.

You cannot receive funding for the same project from multiple grant schemes under Koda Culture. This is in accordance with our regulations, section 6.D. You can find the regulation here.

This means that, for example, if you apply for funding for a release, you can only receive support once for your release project. In other words, you cannot receive funding for a release from both the Release Fund and the Publisher Fund. However, you may receive support for other phases of the same project from other funds. For instance, if you have received funding for the release, you may apply for support for the next phase of your project, such as marketing the release, from the PR funds.

An exception to these rules is the Potential Funds, which are not part of the Cultural Funds.

We have funds that support the various phases your project may go through. These phases can – from an overall perspective – be divided into:

• Create (idea, clarification, writing)
• Improve/Develop (coaching, camps, education)
• Release (recording, mixing, mastering)
• Disseminate (PR/marketing, concert production, trade fairs and exhibitions)

If you have questions regarding the residency, you can contact Sine Tofte Hannibal (DKF) at sth@komponistforeningen.dk or Jacob Eriksen (SAL) at jacob@soundartlab.org

If you have technical questions, you can contact Koda, kodakultur@koda.dk

This residency programme is supported by Koda Kultur.
