Music Export - Eleventh hour

The purpose of the Musik Export - Eleventh hour grant is to support Danish music operating within the popular/commercial spectrum. The grant covers the special and urgent needs that songwriters face when their activities and collaborations cut across national borders.

Who can apply?

All songwriters who are members of Koda can apply for Music Export – Eleventh hour.

What can I apply for?

The Music Export – Eleventh hour grant supports the export of Danish music within the popular and commercial field. This may include participation in a songwriting camp at short notice, a session abroad, foreign songwriters’ trip to Denmark, business meetings abroad, promotional activities (such as concerts / support tours abroad) or legal assistance abroad.

The relevant export opportunity must have arisen suddenly (for example in the form of an invitation) and require urgent attention, meaning that you cannot wait for one of the four regular annual application deadlines. This is to say that the idea of ‘urgent’ does not refer to ideas that suddenly arise, but to actual opportunities that arise suddenly and urgently, and for which you could not reasonably be expected to have contingency plans.

The project must involve partners who can promote the export of Danish music.

If you have applied for Music Export - Eleventh hour grant to L.A. or London and your application is rejected, you cannot subsequently apply for a L.A. and London Residential stay. The same principle applies the other way around.

What must I include in my application?

  • A project description
  • A budget
  • An example of your music
  • Documentation proving your collaboration/interaction with partners abroad (this may take the form of an email conversation, a Facebook conversation, etc.)

When is the deadline?

The Music Export - Eleventh hour grant accepts applications throughout the year; it is intended to cover sudden export opportunities where applicants cannot wait for one of the four regular annual application deadlines to come around.

However, please note that the application form is inactive from 15 June to 1 August, from 15 December to 7 January, and on public holidays.

Who will evaluate my application?

Applications for Music Export - Eleventh hour will be evaluated by an export committee. In 2020/2021, the committee comprises:

Alexander Grandjean

Julie Aagaard

Thomas Ezicut
