Education

The purpose of the Education grant is to support songwriters, producers, composers and lyricists who wish to hone and develop their professional skills.

Note: We will open for the receipt of applications for the next round ca. 3 weeks before deadline.

The Education grant welcomes applications from all songwriters, producers, composers, and lyricists who are members of Koda.

The Education grant supports songwriters, producers, composers, and lyricists who wish to hone and develop their professional skills; this will typically take place at courses/institutions that are not eligible for support under the Danish Students’ Grants and Loans Scheme (SU).

It is not possible to apply for expenses already incurred, or projects that have been completed before the application deadline.

  • A project description
  • A budget
  • An example of your music

The Training/Education grant is open for applications the following dates in 2025

27th February 2025
29th May 2025
30th Oktober 2025

Applications for the Education grant will be processed by the DPA Market committee. In 2025, the committee comprises of:

Committee 1:

Nabiha Bensouda
Joel Hyrland
Simone Tang

Committee 2:

Mette Kathrine Mortensen
Søren Mikkelsen
Lonnie Kjer

If you are awarded a grant, you will receive a pledge for support; this pledge will remain valid for one year from the date on which your grant was awarded. If your project is not completed within a year, you can request an extension. Extensions are granted for a maximum of one year from the date of your request to have your pledge extended.

Getting a pledge means that the grant will be paid out when we receive the relevant documentation (receipts, agreement, invoices etc.). Please note that the grant does not cover daily allowances.

If you wish to use the grant for a different purpose than the one stated in your application, you must first get permission to do so from the grant committee.

You will receive a reply to your application approximately one month after the application deadline.

You cannot receive funding for the same project from multiple grant schemes under Koda Culture. This is in accordance with our regulations, section 6.D. You can find the regulation here.

This means that, for example, if you apply for funding for a release, you can only receive support once for your release project. In other words, you cannot receive funding for a release from both the Release Fund and the Publisher Fund. However, you may receive support for other phases of the same project from other funds. For instance, if you have received funding for the release, you may apply for support for the next phase of your project, such as marketing the release, from the PR funds.

An exception to these rules is the Potential Funds, which are not part of the Cultural Funds.

We have funds that support the various phases your project may go through. These phases can – from an overall perspective – be divided into:

  • Create (idea, clarification, writing)
  • Improve/Develop (coaching, camps, education)
  • Release (recording, mixing, mastering)
  • Disseminate (PR/marketing, concert production, trade fairs and exhibitions)
