Composers retreats in Lofoten, Lille Skiveren in North Jutland, Kaninhullet in South Zealand and Musikanterhuset on Langeland can be sought by all composers and songwriters who are members of Koda.
The Composers’ retreat grant gives composers and songwriters a possibility for working retreats in properties located in Denmark and abroad. The work residencies are self-organised.
Each retreat lasts one week, except for Kaninhullet on South Zealand, which lasts five days.
Retreats are available in Lofoten, Lille Skiveren in North Jutland, Kaninhullet on South Zealand and Musikanterhuset on Langeland. Further descriptions and terms for each residency can be found here
Changes from 2026 regarding New York and Musikanterhuset on Langeland
From 2026, we will no longer offer work residencies in New York. Instead, from 2026 all members of Koda can apply for work residencies at the retreat Musikanterhuset on Langeland.

There are two annual application deadlines:
Applications open approximately four weeks before the application deadline.
Coaching applications are managed by the Autor office in collaboration with the six coaches: Cecilia Krill, Johannes Dybkjær Andersson, Josh Greenberg, MentalVoice, Paul Anthony Clarke and Trine Ulrich.
We will get back to you within two to four weeks.
You cannot receive funding for the same project from multiple grant schemes under Koda Culture. This is in accordance with our regulations, section 6.D. You can find the regulation here.
This means that, for example, if you apply for funding for a release, you can only receive support once for your release project. In other words, you cannot receive funding for a release from both the Release Fund and the Publisher Fund. However, you may receive support for other phases of the same project from other funds. For instance, if you have received funding for the release, you may apply for support for the next phase of your project, such as marketing the release, from the PR funds.
An exception to these rules is the Potential Funds, which are not part of the Cultural Funds.
